Web hosting DNS

Okay, so to give you a little bit more on what im planning on doing

here are the levels / steps in order im trying to accomplish

Domain registrator names server points to my DNS server.
DNS Server points to what ever webserver the domain is on.
reaches web server and brings back page

is that something i can do with the name server pointing to my DNS server?

i dont pan on using a control panel

EDIT* i dont have a problem using zone edit or anything but what would i be using it for?
